Michael W. Jester - Owner, Stallion Syndicate Manager
“My vision and dream of a beautiful, safe, and functional facility for Thoroughbreds has materialized at Penn Ridge Farms,” Michael reflects. “Along with the facilities, which are the finest in the state, I’ve assembled a team of professionals who offer years of experience in stallion and broodmare management.”
“We’re all excited about Cat Thief, Trust N Luck, and Delaware Township joining Real Quiet in our new stallion barn. Bringing these accomplished stallions to the Pennsylvania breeding program will provide a golden opportunity for mare owners.”
“I believe that our superb facility and this impressive stallion roster offer the best choice for breeders wanting to keep their mares in the state to become eligible for our lucrative PA breeding and racing program. We offer seasonal boarding and foaling and also provide facilities for year-round residents.”
Patrick Morell - General Manager
Morell joined Penn Ridge Farms from Vinery Ltd., where he was the Stallion Administrator for the Lexington, Kentucky based organization. During his time in the Bluegrass, Morell gained valuable experience in the world’s most fast-paced and competitive marketplace for Thoroughbreds.
“My time in Kentucky was the best experience of my life” said Morell, “There was nothing that could have prepared me better for my current position.”
High breeder awards, owner bonuses, and fantastic purses make Pennsylvania the best state to breed, foal, and race,” he says. “Our goal is to make Penn Ridge Farms the premiere breeding facility in Pennsylvania.”
Morell has bred and raced Thoroughbreds for the past twelve years, focusing on the lucrative Pennsylvania program. His first pinhooking venture turned out to be a successful one, producing the 2005 two-year-old Pennsylvania Horse of the Year, Escrow Account.
Morell was born and raised in Rochester, Pennsylvania, a small town north of Pittsburgh. He is a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia. He now resides in the Harrisburg area with his wife Michelle.
Chuck King - Farm Manager
Born on the DuPont estate in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, where his father worked as farm manager, Chuck King has worked with Thoroughbreds his entire life. He operated his own boarding and training facility, Foxwatcher, and has a well-earned reputation as one of the region’s finest horsemen. Foxwatcher was home to the pensioned stallion Two Davids and also Tricky Mister, who now serves as a teaser at Penn Ridge.
Chuck started working with Michael Jester and Real Quiet in December of 2007. “Real Quiet has been such an easy stallion to work with," says Chuck. “I really respect this champion, and I’m very proud that he covered 81 mares his first season at Penn Ridge. That’s quite an accomplishment. I'm looking forward to working with the new stallions. What a great group of sires we have here!”
